Being banned from the ms school trip, ASD discrimination

Dd 5 social communication difficulties and dev delay is in the foundation year of preschool. They had a school trip to the zoo, I was given the option of going with dd but could not so she went into school supported by her TA.

There is another little boy with Autism in her class. The headteacher did not give his mug the option of accompanying him on the trip like they did dd, and did not allow him to attend th school on the day of the trip. She said that we would all regret it as he would run off(he is a runner). therefore he was asked to stay at home. His mum Then found out that his TA was being used on the tripShock. This is wrong on so many levels, I can't believe they still discriminate against disability.

The trip should not have gone ahead if it could not be inclusive, bu to tell the parents that their son could not go on the trip and ould not go to school and to use His T A on the trip is so wrong. I have told his mum to take I to the LEA, of stead, ipsea.

The little boys sister goes to preschool attached to this school and on the day of the trip, the mum was dropping the siter off with her ds in tow, he saw the buses for the trip and started to cry and ask why couldn't he go with his friends Sad

Oh and a worksheet about what was seen on the zoo trip was put in his book bag and into dd too, knowing full well that the ds was not allowed on the trip

I am fuming about this, and have told this boys mum to take it further. I cannot believe that schools still discriminate against disability, they would not deare do that for race or sexual orientation. I was banned from a school trip many moons ago when I was 9 due to my developmental delay and my lack of maturity. Thos was about 25 years ago

Unbelievable. Of course the mummy should complain. I'd wnat the teacher's head on a plate, personally.
Reading things like this makes me so glad ds goes to school with his own tutor recruited by us, not an LEA-employed TA (who wouldn't have a clue how best to help him anyway).
