Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good sites that sell cheaper/used ergo carriers, apart from ebay? I live in New Zealand and 2nd hand ergo's are still about double what I have seen on ebay uk so just wondering if there is anywhere else i can look too. Many thanks

I have never had an Ergo (prefer wraps) but I know from babywearing sites that there are many fake Ergos about. You need to be really wary of cheap ones - there is a reason they are cheap. Fake ones aren't safety tested so I wouldn't like to use them for carrying something so precious.

Try looking on these websites - thebabywearer (US Based) and naturalmamas (UK Based) . Both forums sell to NZ (I have sold and bought internationally) and there are threads on there that clearly explain what to look out for with fake Ergos. Just go to the search button and put 'fake ergo' in there and it should bring it up.

thanks Kirsty, yeah I dont want a fake one just a cheap one hahah im a bargain hunter through and through! Ebay have some good 2nd hand one's in good condition going from around 40 pounds which is way cheaper than i could get over here but thought i would ask to see if there were any other sites that people sold from.

I was warned off ebay for ergos as a lot on there are fake apparently - tricky!
seems to be more of an issue with ergos than with very similar brands as ergo is the known name, so what about something similar but not ergo?

If you want a full buckle carrier then I have seen connecta recommended loads.
www.connectababycarrier.com/

They are also often for sale second hand on the natural mamas website in my link above for around the £40 mark?
