Hi all,

New to this. Have read a lot but could do with more help. We're looking for a carrier for back, but not one of those huge trekking ones by littlelife or something.
I have noted a lot of recommendations on the above names, but I would be buying off eBay in the uk so presume I won't be able to get some of these.
It would need to fit my husband who is 6ft4 and medium to large build so straps need to be relatively large and my son weighs 28pounds age 13 months so again able to fit him.
Many thanks all :)

I have an Ergo and am very happy with it (DS is 19mo), but I do prefer to front carry with it at the moment. There are a lot of fakes on eBay, so have a google, there's a few blogs out there which detail the differences between real and fake Ergos.
My DH is 6' and broad shouldered and finds it v comfy too.

I have no experience with the other brands I'm afraid, it sounds like the best thing for you to do is find your local SlingMeet or Sling Library and try a few out.

It might be best for you to buy one 2nd hand from someone you know rather than risk a fake on eBay, try posting on Facebook or asking around your local baby groups to see if anyone wants to sell!

Out of those three I'd go for the Boba. The manduca is small in size so probably won't suit your DH and the Ergo is okay, but the Boba is much bigger and will have more room for your son as he grows.

I'd steer clear of Ergo if ebaying as there are so many fakes. I've never heard of this being a problem with either of the other two.

I've got a Manduca and love it (front and back), but I'm much much smaller than your husband so can't comment on that aspect I'm afraid.

Ergos are short in the body so not great for a taller child. I really do recommend getting to a library to try as many as possible, lots of libraries also do postal loans, they should be listed here www.slingmeet.co.uk/ there are lots of selling groups on facebook too.

I do think personally of the three you've listed the manduca is my favourite but have you considered the babyhawk ohsnap? The straps are nice and long and they are sturdy and nicely sized for your babies age.

Babyhawk would be a good option too I think as well as Boba :)
