Feeling shaky & light headed help with snacking ideas?

Hello I had my little boy 2.5 years ago and lost the baby weight with SW. I’ve got 8 month old twin baby girls and want to do SW again to help me shift the last half a stone. Thing is I look horrendous I have no idea how I’ve lost this much weight but look chubby and have such a tummy!

Anyway I’m breastfeeding they feed 4-5 times a day and 3 times during the night and have just moved on to 3 small meals a day.

I’ve started SW today and have allowed myself 2 x healthy a’s And 2 x healthy b’s because I’m breastfeeding twins I thought I’m making double the milk and they advise an extra healthy b when breastfeeding 1 baby exclusively.

I’ve felt shaky today though and had fruit and carrot sticks but it didn’t subside until I had a coffee with 1 sugar and a 6 syn bar of dark chocolate.

I have chocolate every day usually in some form but I don’t want to snack on that every day.

Any snack ideas that are syn free or low syn that might be more filling? Advice for SW whilst breastfeeding ?

I can’t go to a group because evenings are manic with my 3 under 3 (last time I did it by not joining a class though and used my mums book)

Thank you x x

I think it's more healthy extra A's when breast feeding. Maybe 4 or 5. If you google you may get some more up to date advice.

I'd try to maybe have some protein snacks. Like wafer thin ham or turkey or quark. I'd also try to have some carbs in your meals. I like wholewheat cous cous with lunch or dinner.

I have only breastfed singletons (several 😄).

If I were in your position I would add wholemeal carbs and more protein. A banana if shaky.

Snacks & HEA/B aside, what are your meals like? I'd be looking at plenty of protein and some carbs with every meal along with the standard free food portion

It’s 6 healthy extras up to 6 months with at least 3, but preferably 4 being A choices...

It does go down at 6 months because if weaning... but with two of them I’d say stick with 6 until they’re relying much more on solids than milk.

I also agree that you want carbs and protein in meals and I’d add in high protein snacks as well as things like veg and fruit.

Re groups, you get morning and weekend groups...

It might be you need some extra fat in your diet due to breastfeeding. So if you do have extra A's use them on small amounts of full fat dairy, and for syns I believe 10 olives is 1 Syn. Also fish, go for omega 3 fish like salmon, trout or pollock. I would be having lots of extra dairy products in general though, for instance a big bowl of natural yoghurt with berries and/ or banana, or fat free Greek yoghurt or quark.
I would be limiting caffeine (including from chocolate) as that can make me (and other people I'm not special) quite dizzy and can affect breastmilk too. So if I wanted something chocolatey, I might have choc shot on some strawberries or porridge, and not a regular chocolate bar.
This is something I get a lot on SW when not eating enough so I think that I would up my food at meals too, lots of healthy protein like quorn, meat and fish with plenty of veg and a serving of carbs, something like buckwheat or quinoa would be more satisfying than cous cous, and whole wheat pasta instead of white.

Interesting to read this as I’ve just started SW and m also still BFing twins although mine are 18 months so they feed mainly at night and in the morning. Yesterday I added had a more substantial lunch (beans and poached egg with whole meal toast (hexb) followed by fruit and I felt much better than previous days all afternoon x
