Hello, I'm rejoining slimming world after having ds3. I am 5ft 6 and weight 10st 4. I'd like to set my target as 9st but is this weight "allowed" or is it too low? I'll be joining online so don't want to pay the fee then find out they won't allow me to set that target. Thanks all

I’ve wondered this. I’m similar height/ weight t you atm. So not actually overweight just at the top end of healthy. However, my natural weight without overheating and proper exercise settles at just under 9st. I’m happier at this weight and I look how I feel I should look. It’s not underweight, just the lower end of healthy. I’ve never been to SW but have been considering but it’s a bit daunting when everyone’s telling me I’m not overweight and don’t need to go. I know I’m not overweight! By I’m unhealthy and this is how my body looks when it’s unhealthy.

No idea about today's SW, but your post struck me as my mother joined after having my sister. She was 10st 4 and wanted to get down to 9st. I can't imagine why they would said this wasn't possible (unless you're 10ft tall so it would be underweight Grin)? I only know this as she often wistfully recounts this, saying 'And I thought I was fat then...'. It did work wonderfully for her until she stopped following the maintenance plan and went back to old habits (for 30 years+).

Is there any way to send them an email or do an online chat thing before you sign up? Not familiar with their website, but I'd hope there would be some way off finding this out first.

I do the weighing at my group and when I tried to set 9st for a member it told me that it was too low and told me what I could set it at. The lady was happy to set it at what the tablet said.

Check a BMI calculator and if it's in healthy range it should be ok x

Have you been able to join? I am 5 foot 6 and 10 stone 1. Just tried to join online and it won't let me! I was a member until about 3 months ago when I let my membership lapse. And had a similar starting weight that time round ( put it all back on over christmas). Have they changed their rules??
