I’ve not lost this week and I have a hen do this weekend so i’m planning to try Extra Easy SP Monday - Friday next week. I’m still a bit confused as to what is allowed. (Online only member so no consultant to ask.) I read somewhere that “storecupboard” free foods are fine, so i’m clear that I can carry on using my balsamic vinegar, marmite, stock cubes and spray oil. However I then start to get a bit confused... is sweetener still okay? What about zero calorie syrup? Diet drinks? If I made “buttermilk” chicken, which I marinate overnight in yoghurt, would that be cheating enough to make it not an SP day?j

Hi Smile

I've just completed my first week of SP & lost 4lb even though I didn't stick to it 100%!

So yes, sweeteners and diet drinks are fine.

You only eat S foods or P - so most meats and fruit/veg. Eggs etc. best thing is you get 2 HEB choices so after dinner when I get the munchies I've been having Ryvita Rye cakes (like rice cakes) with a tub of Philadelphia Garlic and herb soft light cheese and cucumber on. You get 6 for a HEB & 2 x 35g tubs for HEA. Felt like a real treat.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Re the yoghurt. You can't have any 'free' foods to make it completely SP it says in the book to have in moderation if needed.

Or syn the yoghurt. You can still have your 15 syns a day

You could try quark instead of yoghurt as that's classed as protein, and not free. I put it over speed fuit, berries etc and a teaspoon of honey and cinnamon (1 syn) and it's lovely on an SP day. I also eat lots of omelettes and salads with HEB sliced bread.

I always think of SP days as basically removing the carbs

Except for your HEBs, which I always use bread for! I just can't go fully carb free!

You can have anything which has an S or P beside it so, no bananas, yoghurt, etc. But you have 2 HEB's and 1 A choice.

It doesn't work for everyone. My friend gained on it. But another class member lost 5lb after doing 3 days.

Thanks so much everyone for your really helpful responses. Glad to know I can still have my no added sugar Ribena and I think I'll blend some quark with water and a splash of lemon juice to use instead of the yoghurt for my chicken.

I've got some fat free fromage frais and 0% yoghurt in the fridge but I will mix it together with some vanilla essence and stevia and shove it in the freezer for an ice cream sundae on my next EE day. Smile

Apart from seeing if it helps my weight loss, I'm most curious as to whether DP will notice we're doing anything different. I'm in charge of all the food so he's an accidental follower of Slimming World! I'm betting he won't notice the lack of chips, pasta and rice, or question why we are having Weetabix and pita bread in the same day, but he might wonder why he's got a jar of quark and berries with his lunch instead of his usual Muller Light... I'll tell him it's a crustless cheesecake! Grin
