Just joined Online SW - any top tips?

Hi all,

This is my first time on Mumsnet and my first time joining Slimming World! I really want to try and lose a stone and a half for my holidays but mainly want to be happier and slimmer, like when I was younger.

Any advice from those who have used it? I don't think I can go to my local class because it is on a day that doesn't suit. Will this hinder me at all?

Thanks :-)

I like the support we get feom class but it's not essential.

My top tops are try new recipes so you don't get bored and be honest with yourself when recording your syns.

We have a thread but I don't know how to link.

Keep a good diary as it's easy to lose track of what you've had. Sw do journals for £5 which are great if they are sold to online members, if not look on eBay

Other tips are stock up your herbs & spices and subway salads are very good for quick lunches when out

Log everything you eat I use the meal planner section of the website.

Download the app for quick syn checks in the supermarket.

Stock up on herbs, spices, the shwartz flavouring with the pink top are free too. Great for adding a bit of flavour to meals without the fat.

When doing it online you are only accountable to yourself. You really need to be completely honest with yourself. This was my issue and the reason I ended up joining a group after I'd lost my first stone. I knew I was letting bad habits slip in like not logging the 3rd glass of wine or sneaking a couple of haribo from dd and pretending it didn't happen.

Good Luck 🍀
