Have I blown diet with my cheat day?

So this is my 4th week on slimming world and I've lost half a stone in the first 3 weeks. I had been completely sticking to the plan until yesterday, when I decided to have a day off and ate half a large dominos pizza, half a portion of potato wedges, half a garlic bread and copious amounts of dip! Today I just feel so guilty about it and really don't want to gain this week. I weigh on a Monday morning so have almost a whole week to make up for it but really worrying that I've ruined this week. Anyone else had a binge and still lost?

catlover, sounds like you're doing really well so far.
Yes, you could still have a loss next Monday.
Count yesterday as a flexible syn day, draw a line under it, and keep to the plan 100% from today.
No need at all to feel guilty: you enjoyed your pizza meal, and you are in control.

There is no such thing as blowing a diet. Your diet isn't what you eat on one day, it's what you eat every day. So what if your scales go up this week - it's what they do over the months and years that counts. Learning not to freak out over the occasional treat is an important part of staying a healthy weight in the long term. Well done on the half stone!

You've only blown your diet if you don't get back on it. Reduce you syns to 5 a day for as many days as you can for the rest of the week, only snack on speed foods and you should be ok. Might not be a good loss, or even a maintain, but the important thing is that you get back in control.

It's a marathon not a sprint. If you gain a little or stay the same this week it's ok. Next week you will lose again. And the next. The important thing is that you enjoyed your treat, and now you get back on plan, don't worry about it.

Thanks everyone. Going to try and reduce my syns as much as I can rest of week to limit the damage. My willpower is seriously lacking!

Agree re keeping syns on the lower side.
But you should still have at least five a day.
Maybe try a few SP meals, too, if not a full SP day: that always helps me when I've over-indulged( long-term target member).

My consultant said ideally you should use your syns for each day but if you did have a special occasion you could save them up and have them in one day, 105 per week or something. So just don't have any more syns and eat loads of speed foods and drink loads of water. If you don't lose but stay the same that's great!

DrW a line under it and back on plan and you will be fine.
