I need to join TODAY! The group I want to join is a Wednesday session!

I am motivated (desperate) today!

Do I join online today or leave it until next week and join a class?

Never done SW before, so maybe I need the class?

Personally I think you should join a class. I did it alone last year and joined a group this year. It's going so much better having the pressure of knowing someone else is weighing you each week.

I have done the classes in the past and found them very intimidating and patronising. Sorry to all of you who enjoy your classes - that was my personal experience. I am an online member and doing really well. I get an email every Sunday morning reminding me to WI... works for me. If you are serious and honest with yourself it can work. You don't need pressure as the only person you would be fooling is yourself. So if you decide to join online GOOD LUCK! Just keep an eye on mumsnet discussion group as there is lots of motivation and really good ideas. Everyone seems to be friendly and keen to help. No patronising and you can dip in and out of those discussions when it suits you - which I do a few times a day. Great motivation!

I would join the class- can you find one in your general area that you could get to for today- sign up with them (do new member talk etc) and then attend from Wednesday next week at your preferred class? That's what I would do!

That's the thing zoka I ended up kidding myself that I was doing it properly, missing weigh days because I knew it wouldn't be a loss etc and so it tailed off until I wasn't even pretending anymore.

Someone with more willpower might be better at going it alone but TBH I find it useful to go to group (and stay for the full 90 mins)

I do online because I know I would find excuses not to go to class, especially on bad weeks which is arguably when I most need to go

Everyone on here is my equivalent though, sharing WI highs and lows, tips and recipes
