Slimming World

Could Slimming World work for me?

I lost weight on SW years ago. It was slow but steady and I liked it. I'm thinking of starting again but I have to eat a fairly low fibre diet and I'm not sure if it's even worth trying. I wouldn't be able to load my plate with veg and there's hardly any fruits I can eat.

Could it work or would I be better off looking at something else?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Can you do the third of a meal of speed food do you think?

I think I would struggle to be honest, not because I don't like veg, but because it would give me such bad indigestion and bloating.

I might be better sticking to the old WW Pro Points plan as I can adapt it. It's a shame as SW worked for me but I had less issues back then!

Thanks for your reply

Have you tried the old red plan, apparently not so reliant on the third speed.

Have you looked at the fodmap foods. This would work alongside sw

I did red and green when I first did it and I preferred it to EE (I tried it a couple of times when it first came out) and I lost loads of weight eating pasta, rice and all the carbs that are supposed to be bad for you!

If I could do red and green again I would probably go back but I understand those plans have gone now.

having seen what the members eat with SW you may well be better with WW.

You can still eat rice and pasta and potatoes on EE. The main changes are not splitting up carbs and protein, only having 1 of each HEX and there's more emphasis now on fruit and veg which can only be a good thing imo

Sorry I missed you saying you can't have a lot of fruit and veg Blush

OP - I suffer with IBS and have to watch my fibre intake - a lot of veg gives me terrible wind. I also have days where I just need to stick to 'beige' food if my stomach is feeling raw. So far I'm 4 weeks in and 8 lbs down so it seems to be working! I do wonder if not being able to have so much speed will catch up with me down the line when I've got less to lose, but for now it seems ok.

Also recommend the FODMAP plan if you've not already tried - so difficult to stick to but it really did help my gas when I was doing it properly
