Well, that's it. I have contacted the leader of my local group and am joining tonight.

I am a little nervous as I have never done SW before and am worried I will find it all a little daunting but I am seriously fed up of harping on about my weight and how nothing fits but doing sod all about it!

I have about 2 stone to lose and I want to hit this by my 30th birthday which is mid May this year.

So I am joining this board as a clueless newbie in need of any guidance, advice or help anyone is willing to offer!

Good luck tonight, Monty.
Try not to feel daunted, as your Consultant will explain the SW plan to you, and you'll be made welcome.
A 2 stone loss by mid May can definitely be done.
You'll find lots of friendly help on Slimming World Support Thread 10.

Thanks Danny. I tried WW before and was doing well but then they changed the whole way the plan worked and I just couldn't get on with the new way so within a year have gained back the stone and a half that I lost Sad. Determined to do it now though!

Hope your meeting went well. I joined 9 weeks ago and have lost 22.5Ibs. My Dh joined as well and he's lost 24Ibs.

Thanks Ashley! Smile
Wow Mother that's amazing!!!
It went ok was abut nervous but the group leader seems really lovely. However, my 2 stone loss is now actually 2 1/2 stone as I was half a stone lighter in my head than I actually am Sad but still seems like I'm on the best place to get rid if it all!
Any suggestions for lunch at work tomorrow as I'm feeling pretty unprepared right now!

I've got about another 3 stone to lose but already feel so good just seeing how I go each week. Don't worry if you only lose a small amount it all adds up! My Dh makes soups which I take to work. Try and have a good breakfast as well that helps. I've been adding lots of veg to meals that really fills me up. Good luck

Eat as much as you want from the free foods in the first part of your book. Then choose 1 Healthy Extra A and a Healthy Extra B. Then you can use 5-15 syns a day too.

For breakfast I tend to have fruit and yoghurt on a non work day bar Sunday when dh does cooked brekkie. Works days I have cereal.

Lunch is a salad/noodles/soup.

Normally do a cooked meal for tea such as pasta bake, Paprika Pork.

At every meal it is recommended that your plate has 1/3 speed foods. You'll find it on the fruit and veg pages with an S beside it.

No worries. Just ask if you have any questions. The general chat is good for lots of experienced members who can give advice too x
