Only signed up last night and am a bit confused. Is porridge a free food?

I have had a bowl - approx 30g dried for breakfast, made with water and a teaspoon of Sweet Freedom Fruit Syrup (13 calories) and an apple.

I am hoping the porridge is free and I count one syn for the sweetener? Any help would be appreciated until I can get home and study my book again.

Thanks Smile

Hi, it's a healthy Extra B choice.

40g of porridge oats is a hex b. As you only had 30g I would count it as 4.5 syns x

The syrup is half a syn for a teaspoon

Okay, I actually logged in and input it on the planner and it has come out as a healthy b free choice, so 1/2 a syn for the syrup.

This is on the extra easy plan.

Sorry, I didn't know you could do this until someone tipped me off in the staff kitchen.

Get some cheap scales. It will make the difference. It's about 3 full but not massively heaped dessert spoons.

Actually, they probably are heaped.

I hate scales. All of them

I have a tiny set, designed for dieting. Porridge oats is the absolute only thing I use them for.

If you're already stocked up on Frylight a capful right to the top is 35g!
