I'm super fussy haha looking for meal ideas and some desert idea's

we have meat every day chicken, beef, pork with either pasta, rice, jacket potato veg or salad. If it's veg it will be sweetcorn, runner beans, broccoli, carrots.

I don't really like sauces unless it's pasta sauce mainly dolmio.
I don't like lentils, chickpeas, pulses ect, swede, cauliflower, Jelly, meringue, yoghurt, milk, cheese unless it's extra extra milk haha,

I'm running out of things to do really any help?

Umm, eating meat and veg and salad is healthy I'm not going to buy stuff that taste like vomit that I've never liked

There's no need to be rude when you don't get the response you like. As with all diets you need to change what you are eating in order to break the habits that caused weight gain. Essentially any lean meat and veg is free on SW however this would get boring very quickly and unless you are open minded enough to try anything different this probably isn't the diet for you

I've always eaten veg/salad/pasta/riceand meat ever since I was a child. That hasn't caused weight gain what has caused weight gain was eating the crap, which I've now stopped. I was asking for help with meal ideas with the stuff I like, if you don't have any that quite frankly there's no need to comment. I'm not going to start eating things I don't like and never have liked on the whims of a MNetter

Wow - you're not going to get much help with that attitude! Perhaps you would be better off searching the recipe section on the slimming world website.

I found slimming world recipes aka cooking it myself worked brilliant at teaching us to eat different foods we would never have tried before. See if anyone has recipes or search online.

I would never have eaten salmon or sea bass if it hadn't been for slimming world. I also tried new spices such as marinating pork in Chinese 5 spice mixed with soy sauce.

The tasting nights at group helped too.

Please don't join the long running thread in SW.

I have never said that before but you are very very rude.

Thank you groove.

I've tried them, but don't like them, my father has tried all my life to get me to eat fish and swede etc no matter if it's in sauce, fried, salad etc I don't like it, never have can't help that!.

To be honest I asked for recipes or ideas for food to "retrain my pallet" is not even remotely helpful in the slightest it's not a recipe or food. I can't help what I don't like, sorry but I can't.

Your meat needs to have all fat removed. Your meals should contain a third of veg or salad.

So you just need to make meals using the food you like, but no fat and counting any syns in oil etc.

Roast dinner
beef or pork with SW chips and veg or salad
baked potato and salad - could add cottage cheese, tuna with a bit of light mayo
Dolmio is high syn so you either need to count it or try making your own pasta sauce without any fat. Maybe add mushrooms to up the speed foods.
Stir fried meat and veg

Do you like spicy food - you could marinade meat in spices and bake and serve with rice or noodles.

What about egg fried rice with meat, egg, rice and corn, beans, brocolli and carrots?

fruit for pudding or something you like and count the syns, but allowed portions are very small.

Thank you Barbara

If you have a jacket potato and salad does it fill you up? Ive had meat every day for dinner since I was weaned basically so worried it won't hit the spot IYSWIM? I've never made my own sauce but will look into it. But do have mushrooms with everything I have we love them here!

I do chips in the actifryer using 1 cal spray instead of oil,

Not keen on spicy food but do use seasoning normally garlic salt, pepper and then chicken/pork/steak seasoning depending on what I have only other thing I use is LP or soy sauce if I'm making chow mein

I do like egg fried rice but only had it from a Chinese takeaway I've never
Made it myself though

Suppose could do a fruit salad and maybe melt chocolate if I need it to hit the spot! have to count the syns though

Whatever you used to eat pre SW, you will be able to find a SW alternative. Don't force yourself to eat things you don't like because it will only make you dive off plan.

I had a very filling meal yesterday with jacket... I had a large jacket potato (used sweet as I prefer)' beans, tuna with salad cream, reduced fat cheese, salad (lettuce, pepper, cucumber, pieces of Chinese chicken and low fat salad dressing). It was huge and really filling. So I used 30g of cheese which is 3/4 of HEA (used rest for milk in tea) and about 1syn for reduced fat salad cream

Thank you musketeer I want to stay on plan long term really so really trying to stay on it!

and thank you mummy didn't realise you could have salad cream! That sounds so may give it a try with mild grated cheese and beans then with salad! I always struggle to find HEA because I don't drink milk, rarely eat cheese so it's always left blank! thank you

You just need to count the syns in any sauces (salad cream, mayo, ketchup etc).

Do you like shellfish like prawns, or do you dislike all fish? Canned tuna? What about cream cheese for your HEA?

If you don't like normal milk, what about almond milk etc?

There's a chocolate coconut almond milk that I really like and I think it counts as a HEA - if there's no information just work out how much you can have for 120 calories to work out the recommended portion size. It's nice to drink on it's own, or you can use it in porridge.

I have my jacket potatoes with tuna mayo, cottage cheese or normal cheese or two or three of all these and I find them filling, but I don't eat a lot of meat so don't miss the meat that's not there, IYSWIM?

Beef or pork steak, or chicken breast with mushrooms, onions and tomatoes and actifry chips?

But just search the web for slimming world and the food or recipe you are interested in and there's loads of ideas - there's a few websites devoted to slimming world friendly recipes.

Yes you can have salad cream but obviously needs syn'd. I use reduced fat.
Lidless do nice pork medallions which I often have with new potatoes or sw chips and loads of veg or salad. Lots around you just need to look online

OP, I'm a fussy eater too and there are lots of foods that I don't eat, that make me physically sick too.

I'm eating a lot of chicken , ham, pork loin, potatoes, carrots and peas.

I can eat some other vegetables if in a soup.

It's hard filling yourself up sometimes on free foods if you want something different.

I'm eating more eggs and beans and spaghetti.

Barbara - I don't like any type of fish so it completely rules out any fish meals unfortunately I'm ok with skimmed milk but v rarely drink/eat it but I don't like almonds or coconuts either so makes it even harder but thank you will try that idea with the tomatoes and chips

Thank you mummy will try that one one night as well we shop at Aldi so get lots of meat there

Sky it's hard not liking lots of food it gets repetitive I find! I was gonna try omelet as I like eggs but never had one but will try some of the recipes above

Thank you everyone who helped really appreciate it

omelettes are lovely. Eggs are so versatile. I bought some Quark to do scrambled eggs with instead of using milk/butter.

I am eating babybel lights for my HexA, they are quite tasty.

I don't drink milk, I don't like mince meat, the only vegetables I like are carrots and peas. I hate all salad.

I also need help to eat the things I do like, not to be told that I need to force myself to eat them. My SW consultant seems to be on board with that and suggesting lots of different ways of eating things, or cooking things.

It's being forced to eat certain foods as a child that makes me sick now. I can't stand the smell or taste or texture of a lot of things.

I do make leek and potato soup once a week. I have also made carrot and coriander, mixed vegetable. Tomato soup is next on the list to try and make. I hate tomatoes, but love tomato soup and sauce.. weird I know.

I think a key to variety on any diet is herbs and spices. The method pretty much remains the same, but you're just changing the flavour!

We buy chicken breast, lean lamb steaks, lean minute (or sandwich) steak, pork medallions, and then mix it up with the marinade that we use. Here are some ideas that we cook a lot of the time:

  • Peri peri spice mixed with lemon juice and frylite and rubbed into chicken breasts
  • Ditto with Ras-al-hanout spice (a kind of moroccan spice - you can find it in most supermarkets)
  • Minute steak stir fried with chinese five spice and szechuan pepper (I use a jamie oliver grinder - a mix of szechuan pepper, chilli and ginger). Throw in a dollop of oyster sauce at the end - yum.
  • Use a curry spice blend and blend it with fat free greek yoghurt (I like Total 0%). Marinade your meat of choice, then grill on skewers
  • Mix finely sliced fresh ginger, coriander and lime juice and marinade chicken breasts - sprinkle over chopped spring onion when it's done.

Sometimes I serve the chicken breasts / steaks / medallions whole, or i chop them up and skewer them with red pepper, cherry tomatoes and slices of red onion.

I serve these with either frylite potato wedges, roasted sweet potato wedges sprinkled with paprika or rice. We eat a lot of salad so that's on the side, or I stirfry thickly sliced mushrooms with a little balsamic vinegar and that's really tasty with the chinese-y meals.

Then, of course, there are TONS of recipes online: not just the Slimming World website, but a lot of blogs too. Just google it: there are more diet friendly stews and curries than you could shake a wooden spoon at.

DISCLAIMER: just in case someone sees something in my food ideas that isn't SW friendly .... I'm using nutracheck to log, but with a lot of sw elements in my cooking. I don't syn! Grin

I don't like curry or chilli but I do use a lot of mixed herbs and Italian Seasoning, on meat or potatoes. Or have mint sauce with chicken.

Made my tomato soup last night and it was delicious.
