day one fail

So I started slimming world on Saturday , just so happened to have planned a meal out with a friend that night. I planned to go to an Italian , planned to have grilled fish , potatoes , veg, great. Anyway , they had no tables , the only place we could go instead in town was Chinese or Indian, I chose Chinese as a healthier option. To start I had salt and pepper mushrooms and then chicken chow mein. The mushrooms which I thought would be healthy , came with a crispy light batter on. I ate them sad I feel like I have failed on the first day, no idea how to syn these mushrooms. Feel rubbish now sad

Don't be so hard on yourself! It's day one, you have six more days to sort it out! I would high ball it and syn the mushrooms as indian pakoras, though they probably won't have been as bad, and then flexi syn the rest of the week around that. It'll be okay as long as you get back on itgrin

Don't worry about it, honestly...just do it the rest of the week.

You'll very very probably lose weight anyway.

Slimming world is brilliantly easy to follow when you're familiar with it but it takes time to get used to it.
Most people I've seen start it have slip ups in the first week or two - and they all still went on to lose weight still that week.
So don't give up, just chalk it down to experience. It works - I've list four stone since last June grin

Don't worry about it! Draw a line under it and move on. Whatever you do, don't give up for the week as there is a big chance you'll still lose anyway. Honestly, I had chinese takeaway for dinner on Friday, then ate a lot of chocolate this weekend, and I lost almost 5 lbs this week! I'm not a new member either, so my body has got used to SW.

Thanks for your replies. I synned the mushrooms as though they were deep fried prawns as that's the only similar thing I could find, at 19 syns. The chow mein was about 25 i think. I'll just have to be good now for the rest of the week, no meals out! I've just had a huge tomato and mushroom omelette for breakfast with beans , all free apparently , dunno how I can lose weight by feeling this satisfied after eating, we shall see on Saturday!

Every now and then I start getting into the mindset that I need to be hungry to lose weight but SW really works. Full and fantastic!
