Thinking about starting SW again - a few questions

My dd arrived 10 weeks ago and I have a lot to lose. I started 5:2 a few weeks ago and was doing ok but was only losing around half a lb a week and stayed the same a couple of weeks. I've done SW before a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. I know the basic principles (I did extra easy I think it was called?) but have a few questions before I do a meal plan and give it another go. I'm not keen on the groups so going to try and go it alone Shock

Can someone quickly explain the healthy extra thing to me? I can't for the life of me remember the details (I'm not breastfeeding btw so would just follow the normal plan)

Does anyone have any ideas for easy meals? I find it hard to spend a lot of time preparing and cooking whilst looking after dd.

What's everyone's favourite snacks to have in the house to eat?

Also how do I work out how many syns I get per week?

Any other tips are greatly appreciated Smile

Congratulations on your DD!

Everyone gets the same amount of syns 15 a day (or 105 a week)

Healthy Extras are things they recommend you eat to stay healthy and give you much needed calcium and fibre. You get one A choice AND one B choice every day.

So Healthy Extra A is any ONE of the following per day:

Milk (depending on whether you use skimmed or whole milk as to the amount you get allocated).
Cheese 30g
4 Laughing Cow Light Triangles
Dairy Lea light spread etc.

Healthy Extra B is any ONE of the following:
Wholemeal bread (have to weigh the amount but it works out as 2 slices of the small half loaves)
35g Porridge oats
35g Shreddies
2 Alpen Light bars
Shredded Wheat
Weetabix

There are loads to chose from and are all in my book if you do want any more info.

Favourite snacks are the good old Muller Light Yogurts, raspberries, mango, Fat Free Fromage Frais (syn free) with sweetner and a spoonful of coco powder added is really nice.

Hope this gives you some of the answers you are looking for. Good luck x

BUT I would recommend going to a group. Even just for a couple of weeks because it really does help you to have all the info in the leaflets and the log book you get when you join. Loads of the woman's mags (I got mine out of Closer I think) have free membership vouchers! Definitely worth it for me, I love going to group and without it there's be no way in hell I'd stick to it! Been going for 3 months and lost over 2 stone. Best thing I've ever done for myself.

Thanks for the reply Smile you've jogged my memory now with the healthy choices! My sister has the new books so I'm going to borrow them and get started once I've done my next food shop. Well done on your loss, you've done fab!
