waking through hunger at 12 months

my DD is 12 months and has started waking at around 2 in the morning. Usually she would settle back to sleep with a cuddle but we have had to start giving her a full bottle of formula which she drains. She had an ear infection/cold/cough about two weeks ago but she was only waking then as she was having trouble breathing through stuffed up nose. she is more or less walking now and I wonder if that is why she is more hungry. have tried giving her more in the day but she cannot physically take anymore food! i wonder if it is a growth spurt that will pass in a few days - any suggestions?

WE had a similar thing around this age, he also got really fussy about his food, it was a total pain in the bum.
It took a few weeks to sort itself out for us but he went back to sleeping properly through the night.
Personally I would just give her the milk, we spent far too long stressing and arguing about whether to and whether he would get in bad habits, etc, which was half the stress of the whole thing!

i delayed giving her cows milk to drink as she was ill and i wanted to see if there was any allergic reaction, but last night gave her half cows milk and half formula and she slept through.......until 8 this morning! fingers crossed for tonight. i think she needed the extra calories that the fat in the milk has given her as she is super active at the moment. thx for your response summerlightning
