Swaddling - Come and tell me about it...

Dc2 is due next week and I am keen on the idea of swaddling. DD was a mid summer baby so it was always a bit warm to do it.

I have found the Babysense swaddle blankets that look nice.

Do you swaddle the baby just for nap times? If you do it at night do you put extra blankets on?

I want to breast feed this baby and can imagine it being beneficial for that as well.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I swaddled DS, I didn't use a special blanket though I just used a cellular one. He look so adorable all tucked up like a little bean

I foud it very easy to do, triangle the blanket, lay baby about a third of the way across, head just over the top edge, wrap the smaller side of the triangle right over baby then wrap the larger piece right over and tuck under

So adorable

I swaddled my DD for naps and at night until she was about 4 months. I couldn't get to grips with a regular blanket so used a miracle blanket. I think I used to feed her in it at night but always used to reswaddle when I put her back in bed. In the winter I used to put a couple of light blankets on top as I don't think she would have been warm enough as it is just made of cotton and she was in an Amby aswell so very snug.

I tried to swaddle my daughter but she likes to have her arms free and punches her way out of it. It may be worth just trying with a cellular blanket in case your dc doesn't like it either so you don't waste money on a swaddle blanket.
