16 month old toddler - terrible sleeper

Is there anyone out there who can give me a few tips. I have a 16 month old toddler. She starts off in her cot at 7.30pm - I rock her & then put her down just as she is faling asleep. She wakes up at night & ends up in the bed with me. I give her a bottle which settles her to sleep. I am working 3 days a week & my husband has been doing a course at uni so we have had to give in a lot when she's been playing up at night just to get a good night's sleep - hence the huge problems we now face. Recently, she has been getting up in the middle of the night, fully awake, wanting to go down - haven't given in to that one yet - so she screams & plays up for a few hours. We are going away on holiday in 2 weeks & am dreading it. Does anyone have any useful suggestions as to what I can do & whether I can get her into a routine in a matter of 2 weeks?!! Thanks

Is she getting her molars? Give her some pain medication and see how she gets on. FWIW, one night waking is not a "nightmare," in fact it's quite common for her age.

Thanks for that. Her teeth are coming out very slowly but I don't think it's that. Her getting up at night is getting to be a regular thing altho she didn't last night which was a result!

I wouldn't try to change anything before holidays, as even it something did work then the holiday would disrupt it again. Perhaps try co-sleeping with her or taking turns of having her at night on holiday. Or the one who gets up in the middle of the night gets sleep time during day.

I would give her water in middle of night and perhaps offer calpol if you think it is teething pain. Also do exactly what you're doing and not take her down stairs.
