Why is my 17 mo thrashing about all night? Not actually awake.

For 3 nights running DD (17 mo) has been letting out a sort of siren cry, sitting bolt upright then slamming back down into bed in a different position. It starts any time between 1- 2 am and repeats at 30-45 min intervals for the rest of the night. I am so tired I don't know what to do with myself.

We cosleep, and I wake every time. The bed is 6ft 6in square but even so she gets very close to the edge so I can't ignore it as there's a likelihood she'll fall out.

Even if I put her in her cot (and she screams) that is in my room so would still disturb me. No other rooms we could use.

Does anyone know what this is all about? I assumed she was in pain so tried medised the second night but still the same.
