My ds is 11.5 months. He is sleeping okay, wakes twice for bf. The thing is, it has always been me that puts him to sleep, and with a feed. He doesn't have to be fully asleep but the feed does make him nicely conked - he has never gone down tired but awake, he just shouts or gets up again. I'm 100% fine with the situation BUT it has to change. We are going to a wedding reception next month and my DP wants his mother to put DS to bed. I cannot argue with this as he will be 13 months old, really old enough to be put to bed by him Granny, but I'm not sure how it's going to work. I will have to try expressing but neither of us gets on with it very well. He will be rocked if he's already well on the way but not otherwise. And this is after a feed. So has anyone else made a similar transition successfully? We have a month to try stuff out! I suppose the first step is for DP to try putting him to bed with a bottle but wondered what other suggestions people had? Thanks!
