Hi there, wondering if anyone has any ideas about why my DD's sleep is so bad or if anyone's been through the same...
My smiley, very happy & active daughter by day has never been a great sleeper, at first we could only get her to sleep with tonnes of movement and a sling. So at 3.5 months we did some sleep training and got her sleeping in her cot for naps and at bedtime. We even had lots of nights with only 1 wake up per night and some where she slept through from 8pm - 7am! But at 4 months what I can only assume sleep regression kicked in. After 6 weeks of 4-5 wakes per night things got a little better for a few weeks but now her sleep is terrible again, worse than it's ever been. She's harder to put down at night (despite me being careful of awake times) and will then wake up multiple times before settling for a couple of hours. Thereafter she's up every two hours or so. She's inconsolable unless I put her on the boobs (but I'm pretty certain she's not hungry)! Me and my partner are so so tired and lack of sleep is massively affecting my mood, energy and ability to enjoy her in the day. I tried not given her the boob last night and it was awful, she spent practically the whole night crying and no amount of soothing from me helped (in fact when she cries I'm never really able to soothe her. Ditto my partner). It's been going on nearly two weeks now.
Any thoughts on what it might be and what I can do? Thank you!!
