2 naps to 1?

Hi mums, just wondering what age your babies were they dropped from 2 naps to 1? My 10 month olds awake time is getting longer so her afternoon nap is getting later which means she’s not ready for bed TIL after 9 😔. But 10 months seems a little young to drop to just 1 nap? Thank you 😊

Was about 10 months for DD - the same time as starting nursery. It took a while, a good few weeks where some days she'd had one and others she'd still have two.

What time are the two naps? Not going down for bed until 9pm does seem extreme. 10 months seems very early though. Most children, including my toddler, dropped to one around 15 months I think. A little while after going to childminder at 12 months.

15 months here for DC1 (not got there yet with DC2).

Before it was nap 1 at 9am (45 mins) and nap 2 at 1.30 (2 hours). Bedtime 7pm.

After dropping we moved the one nap to be 1-3pm. Bedtime still 7pm.

10 months seems really early, and bedtime really late. Could she be overtired which is why she's refusing bedtime? Could you try putting her down earlier than normal?

Around 11 months as she started with a childminder and it just fell in that way as her afternoon nap was during school pick up and they did activities in the morning.

Both my DDs dropped naps early. DD1 I don't remember exactly, but no longer napped in the day (unless car/unwell) by 18 months. Nightmare haha.

DD2 dropped to one nap around 9 months, but is desperately ready for bed by 6pm. She's now 12 months and just has one 40min-1hr nap in the middle somewhere. I'm convinced she'll be like DD1 and stop completely early too. Dreading it!

Nap times vary as she goes down for a morning nap 3.5hrs after wake up. So if she wakes at 7, she would have morning nap 10.30, usually for about 1.5hrs. Which means her afternoon nap falls 3.30ish which to me is too late for a pm nap...

We used to follow the 2-3-4 partern.. nap 2 hours after waking, then 3 hours gap, then 4 before bed.

I remember as we approached 1 it wasn't working out, so I used to keep the later nap a short one so not to knock bedtime too much.

My 11 month old naps 3 hours after waking too. So 9/10 am. I put him back down for a second nap between 1-2 even if he doesn't appear tired. He will sleep for about 1.5 hours, so awake by 230/3. Maybe just try putting him down for the second nap earlier.
