HELP! 14 month old waking several times an hour ALL NIGHT!!!

Help!!! My 14 month old DS has never been a particularly good sleeper but the last couple of months has settled into a much better routine with me going in maybe once a night and popping his dummy back in. However, the last four nights, he's been waking several times an hour all night. I go in, pop his dummy back in and he settles again quite quickly but only for 20 mins or so. He's also not eating much at the moment - even favourite things aren't really tempting him. Yesterday he ate a few spoonfulls of lunch and was sick and wouldn't eat anything else till later when he had a bit of bread. My DH is convinced it's because of the heat but I'm starting to worry it may be something else. He's dribbling a bit too so we've been giving him Calpol in case it's a tooth. He's also a bit more clingy than normal. Having said that he also has big periods of being really happy and chirpy! Anyone got any ideas as to what it might be?

Could be the heat, teething, a bug, etc. If he was sick that could signify illness - is he taking plenty of fluids to keep him hydrated especially if it is warm where you are?

Thanks for responding. Yes, he's taking lots of water. It's been really warm the last couple of days - last night his thermometer in his room said it was 25 degrees! Had the window open, and him just in a short sleeve body suit with no cover. Might try just a nappy tonight if it's as hot.

Hi LauraGas, if it's any consolation my DS (11 weeks old) is having the exact same symptoms! also off feeding etc. I've put it down to the hot weather!
