Sleep Problems

Hi,
I'm having so many problems with my baby's sleeping and wondered if anyone has any advice re these problems:

  1. She wakes many times throughout the night (on average about seven times but sometimes as many as thirteen times). I have to feed her back to sleep or occasionally, I am able to hold her back to sleep.
  2. She used to go back to sleep and down in her cot quite quickly at night but now sometimes it takes me over an hour to get her back to sleep and in her cot.
  3. She doesn't seem to nap as much as she should during the day. She usually naps for an hour a day at most and I have to hold her in my arms or push her in her buggy to get her to have those naps. I keep trying to get her to sleep in her cot for naps but I end up spending ages getting her to sleep for her to wake within fifteen minutes of being put down.
  4. Because of the above, she gets about eleven hours of sleep a day when she's apparently supposed to have fourteen hours a day.
  5. She keeps getting tired earlier so now I'm starting her bedtime routine about 6pm. I'm worried that when the clocks change in a couple of weeks that she will be tired earlier and that I will have to start getting her ready for bed at 5pm!
  6. She doesn't have much consistency with when she is going to wake up for the day. Some days she is still asleep at 7.30am but others she is up for the day at 5am.

My baby is now six months old. She will be starting nursery in January so I want to try and get her sleeping better before then.
She did sleep right through from about two months old until she was four months old and she also used to have at least a morning nap in her cot each day.
Thank you 🙂
