Sleep

7 month old refusing naps

DD has been a pretty good sleeper since we got her into a routine (pretty flexible) from about 3 months old.

She sleeps roughly 7.30-7 in her own room, with a sleepytot for her dummy and white noise.

Usually just put her down with dummy and she falls asleep, same for naps. The last few days her naps have been awful. It will take up to an hour of her talking, playing, shouting, and then she will fall asleep, often for just 20 mins. She will wake up happy, but it is just not enough sleep! Our routine was like this:
7am- awake, bottle
8am- breakfast
9am - nap for approx 1hr 20 mins
1130- lunch - full purée and yoghurt
1.30 bottle
2pm nap- usually 1.5-2hrs
4pm awake, dinner - purée, finger foods, fruit
6pm - bottle
6.45- baby rice with rest of bottle
7pm bath, massage
7.30 bed

She would previously go straight to sleep for each nap, but now as I say, she is fighting them and waking up so quickly!! Any ideas??

Of this is just changed in the last few days, my money would be on pain. Either illness (cold, sore throat, blocked nose) or a tooth about to cut.

I tend to just give tons of extra TLC and attention when mine is poorly. It'll only be short lived. But you still want to avoid over tiredness because that brings it's own problems. I would be prepared to give lots of extra help to get to sleep though.

Thanks fate. For yesterday’s afternoon nap I put the vaporiser on, calpol given, and some face strokes. She slept for 2hrs!
