So a couple of weeks ago I bit the bullet and cut out DD night bottles and replaced with water, Surprisingly fine, but has made not a blind bit of difference to her wakings.

So usually 2-3 times a night, she wakes up I go in she has a few sips of water (I don't get her out of the cot), and then usually goes straight back to sleep when I lie her back down. Do I just need to go with this for the moment, or anything else I can try?

As you've found, she isn't waking for calories, just for a little comfort from you. She is probably also not thirsty.

That said, if she needs comfort then she needs comfort so she will find an excuse to call you in.

A longer term plan would be to develop a comforter. A cuddle toy or similar. When you go in, instead of giving her a drink snuggle her to her comforter and lie her back down. Give it a few months and she might be willing to self-comfort in this way without calling you in.

She has a much loved dummy! Quite often when I go in it will be in her hand. If I try to give it back to her she'll yell until I give her water. She's always drunk a lot! I guess I'll go with it for a couple more months and see how we get on -yawn!
