Sleepyhead deluxe...to buy or not to buy?

Hi. Just wondering whether to splash out and buy the sleepy head deluxe? My lb has gone through good and bad phases with his sleep. He's now 7 months old and goes to bed at 7. Recently he's been sleeping soundly until midnight but then wakes every 1 - 2 hours after that until we get up. He's breast fed and eats well during the day. Would the sleepyhead work or am I grasping at straws here! ? Desperate for a decent stretch of sleep!

We love it here and have gone on to buy the Grande size. DS is 20mo and seems to love the feeling of something behind his back. It's a comfy thing to sleep in but I don't know if it's going to solve your problem.
What happens every 1-2 hrs?
At that age we had DS in a cot beside our bed and I decided to cut out his (approx) 2am feed. I changed sides in the bed with DH to keep a lower profile. DS went to bed at 8, had a bf at 10pm and at 6am. If he woke in the night, DH did shushing, soother-replacing and offered water. It took about 5 nights to get a sleep-through.

He's in a cot next to my side of the bed at the minute. Usually I just feed him back to sleep but I'm back to work soon and don't know how I'll manage on so little sleep. I was considering just picking a time in the middle of the night, say 4am, feeding him then but just cuddling him back to sleep the rest of the time. Don't know why but I feel guilty about trying it out! Good to hear others have done it though.

Hello!! Have you tried the dream feed at 11pm????
My LO is the same.. she's slept through since 12 weeks now all of a sudden..BAM .. lol awake at like 3am every morning.. most of the time she just wants a snuggle and back down she's not looking for a bottle as I feed her at 10.45pm every night..
do you think it's a growth spurt??
I was also going to buy the sleepyhead as I've now resorted to putting her in her Moses basket which I think she will get another two weeks out of it as she's getting so big!!!
I'm clutching too. It I heard they are amazing!! Good luck x

Hi. No, I haven't attempted a dream feed. That could be an option though. It's awful when you've just got used to a certain sleep patterns then it changes! I've heard great things but the larger size is so expensive. I think deep down I know DS will sleep when he's ready but I'd prefer it to be sooner rather than later! Hope your situation improves too! x

I love the sleepyhead, but don't think it will work for this. Also, at 7 months baby would be very snug in it and almost ready for the next size up.

Why don't you try the dream feed.. it may work??
Its so expensive but I think I'll just get the bigger one,. Will you?? My nephew was in the bigger one at 7 months..
I'm just lost whst to do. She sleeps all night in her Moses basket but always wakes up in her cot.. she ends up cranky the next day too as she's tierd!xx

Oh yes, I meant the grande one/bigger size. Spoke to hv yesterday who thinks it may be a growth spurt and that she wouldn't bother buying it. Told me to roll up a cellular blanket into a sausage shape, then into a U shape under his legs to help him feel more secure. We'll see how this goes. I'm also going to top him up with some expressed milk once he finishes on the boob (also advised by hv) to see if he has a longer stretch. Will also add in a dream feed. Thanks for your comments!

I'm with you. My DD was still feeding four times a night a month ago and she dropped her feeds one by one but still woke every two hours and then every 40mins for a few days! But, then, for the past five days, she's not fed at all (even when offered) and has begun waking only at 12 and 4/5am for a brief cuddle/rock. She's 8mo. I did nothing to make this happen. She goes to bed at 6pm and is up at 6am. She does stir a bit 6-8pm but seems to be learning to self soothe.

It might all change during the next tooth/spurt/leap but it's encouraging. I wouldn't buy the sleepyhead but good advice from HV about the rolled blanket.

Lifeisazebracrossing...my lb is now doing exactly what you said about you lo above. We moved his bedtime to an hour later too.I'm just hoping it stays like that and that the 8 month regression doesn't happen (everything crossed) Smile

Shes definitely sleeping better BUT when she's in her own room will still wake...She's 7 months! We have figured out the reason she's waking up is seagulls near a factory that we live near.. they are SO loud!!!!! They sit on our neighbours house right outside her room.. so we've had to move her into our room at the back of the house!! So think she was sleeping through not because of the basket / sleepyhead but because she's in our room and can't hear them! I'xx
