My husband and I have shared a bed with DD pretty much since she was born, and up until now it has felt completely right for us. However cosleeping with a toddler is a bit more challenging than sleeping with a baby, and our bed feels like it's shrinking by the day! Also, DD is starting to show some signs of readiness; she no longer falls asleep while breastfeeding, and sometimes falls asleep holding a cuddly toy. Also breastfeeding is no longer a sure-fire way to resettle her so having her in our bed isn't as helpful in maximising sleep as it was in the past.
I've got a stretch of 10days off work coming up so am planning to do it as gently as possible over that period, but am still feeling really nervous/skeptical that it will actually work.....
