Ready to drop a nap or not?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and my first post is about sleep (not really surprising!!)

Just wondered if anyone could shed any light on this... my 14 month old boy has been on two naps for a while, usually starting around 9.30 or 10.00 for a short nap then he does a long one starting around 14.00 or 15.00.

I have to breastfeed him to sleep, that's just how it is at the moment, and basically for the morning nap I have not been able to actually put him down in his cot as he wakes up immediately and cries! So I quickly stick him back on the boob and for the remainder of his nap I'm stuck with him.

For his afternoon nap I can put him in his cot once in a deep sleep and the same for bed time.

What the heck is going on with his morning nap that I can't put him down?!

I thought it might be a sign of wanting to drop a nap but that doesn't make sense really as he is tired enough for his morning nap.

Has anyone else been through this??
