I'm awake. 3 children in the house - none good sleepers when younger but all fast asleep now (12,10,6). Cat woke me up an hour ago! Grrrr!!

Years not months.

Congrats all you with teenies feeding cutely.

I'm up with my toothy, nipple-twiddling, squirmy 20m old. I feel like exhaustion is in my bones.

I'm up.

Feel a bit out of place as my dc are 11 and 9 yrs old!

I do remember those awful, dark, lonely hours when you felt like you were the only person in the world though. Both Mine used to wake-up for the day at 5am everyday. I can't remember exactly when it started changing but it definitely did.

One day, you will find yourself having to wake them up! Believe me, it will happen. Both mine now sleep for Britain. I can't achieve anything at all at weekends before midday.

Hold fast. You will lie in again x

God reading all this i remember the feeding days. I have 4 dc but all were great sleepers with the youngest going theough the night from 4 days old, although i was waking every few hours to pump. She was attached to me all day though.

I've been awake since. 3 with my 18 month old who is going through a terrible sleep regression and won't sleep in her cot. Trying to be strong tonight and not just get her into our bed but the result is everyone being up since 3 and can't see her going back to sleep now and can't be long before she wakes dd1 who will then be overtired all day. Why am I doing this again?

I'm up my ds has a terrible cold and will only sleep on me whilst I'm standing up rocking him. I could seriously scream if I wasn't so tired. My only consolation is that my 5 year old dd is sound asleep so I'm thinking maybe 4 more years and I will sleep again!

I've been up for a while, am in hospital with a broken leg that needs surgery. It's roasting, my leg hurts and there's a very confused elderly lady who keeps calling for help even though the staff are helping her :(

I'm up!
Woken by an almost 4 year old, but also needing a wee (36 weeks pregnant).

DS is going through a phase at the moment that he will shout for us if he wakes in the night, making daft excuses why he needs us!

This was at 3:10am. After 2 hours battling with my thoughts about how unprepared I am for DC2 I got up. Suppose it's my body's way of preparing for the broken nights. 😴

Luckily, I'm now on maternity leave and the GPs are taking DS out in the morning, so I should be able to have a snooze- that's if my mind doesn't go in to overdrive again!
