New mattress for moses basket?

I bought a new mattress for the moses basket when ds was born. He'll be 18 months old next week. He rarely slept in it and I gave up altogether at about 7 wks old.

I plan to have a bedside cot with new cot mattress for Dc2 due in 11 days. I may try the moses basket, or use it downstairs.

Just wondering if I should get a new mattress for it? Ds never stayed a full night in it, and wouldnt nap in it, so it's had little use.

Personally I wouldn't bother but I don't know the exact reasons for new ones each time
