9 month old waking in the night for a cuddle...

Hi all,

Would love some advice on what other mums would do in this situation.

My 9 month old dd has been a good sleeper but for the last few weeks she wakes up a few times a night, when she wakes she's not screaming the house down, she just stands in her cots and whimpers. I pick her up and have a cuddle with her, she falls asleep in my arms and I put her back in. I'm now worrying this is becoming a habit. What would you guys do? Would you leave her in the cot and hope that she goes back to sleep herself, even if she starts to cry?

I would probably wait 2-3 minutes to see if whimpering becomes crying or if she lays herself down and self settles.

I do that but the whimpering goes on ...

Probably to do with learning a new skill.

Agree with pp see if she escalates before going in. Trying laying her down and patting back once or twice and go.

Once she's mastered pulling up and then sitting down she might sleep through again.

And then after a while she starts to cry. So then I pick her up.
I'm just thinking if she's not waking up really crying I don't think it can be due to teething or anything- so I'm worried she's just forming a habit

She's mastered standing and sitting back down in the cot. So I think I will just have to leave her, and hope that she settles.
How long would you leave it before deciding to pick her up (if she's crying)
