Please share what your doing/did with your 15mo for sleep. 1 nap or 2, bedtimes and wake up times. Can't work out where we are going wrong and have an overtired mess on my hands for the 5th day running. over night sleep has gone from 12 to 10 hours. It's not his teeth, he has a cold but not the worst he's had and is walking if any of that makes a difference!! Help me please!!

Their sleep patterns are really very unpredictable when they are so young - the lighter nights won't be helping. Ds 3 is 16 months and he has a nap in the day, about an hour to an hour and a half which is usually around lunch time. We then put him to bed about 7 and he goes through to about 6.30am. He is my third child and without a doubt the best sleeper. My first two were not so good but did both have naps in the day up until about age 2.5. No naps after 3pm was always my rule though as that seemed to ruin things for the night time.

With my first two I'd have been happy with ten hours a night at that age, they generally did about 8pm - 6am at that age.

My little one is 15 months and has one nap a day of about 1hr 20 mins and sleeps through the night about ten or eleven hours ocasionally waking up for a quick drink of water. he loves to be in the dark to fall asleep so we have invested in a black out blind which does help!

My main issues isn't the length of nighttime sleep it's the crazily overtired child I have on my hands! he only has 1hr at lunchtime today and he is inconsolable. Think I need to aim for 2 hrs at lunch and just one nap. He does a mix of granny's nursery and home with me so every day is different which obviously doesn't help. Hopefully can get him settled into a new routine with one nap quickly.

At 15 months my DD was sleeping:
9.30am-11.00am
1.00pm-3.00pm
7.30pm-7.00am

She is now coming up for 19 months and hasn't changed much from that. Morning sleep is now 10-11am, everything else the same.

My DD is nowhere near ready for 1 nap yet

It will have to be 2 naps today as he's been awake since 5.30 and is already exhausted . Thanks for reassuring me that 2 naps is still normal fate.

My ds only dropped to 1 nap recently (21 months) and that was because he was really fighting the afternoon one but needed it otherwise over tired by bed time. He was also waking between 5-5.30am. Now he's on one longer nap it's easier and he sleeps until 6-6.30am however before he was ready was a struggle to keep him awake in the morning

He had three naps in the end yesterday and finally broke the cycle of over tiredness. Back to 11.5 hrs last night and he's much happier this morning fingers crossed can carry it on will try two naps today and stick with that for a while longer I think. Thanks for all the help.
