Help! 4week old can't sleep when 2year old is around!

When trying to get my 4 week old off to sleep for daytime naps it is becoming increasingly difficult with my lively 2year old son doing his thing of running around and shouting! He's just too lively and can't get him under control yet to get him to bend to my ways of 'shh I'm trying to get your sister to sleep.' Anyone else been through this and got a solution? If I removed myself and her to another too he would only glow and if I shut the door a major tantrum would erupt! Thanks in advance for any help!

I just stuck the baby in a wrap sling and carried on. She slept, I had 2 hands free to play with the toddler. All good!

Carrying her on my shoulder worked up until now but for some reason any shout from the toddler means she stays wide awake. :( ive tried to keep tv's radios etc on since we got home to keep her used to noise so that she is used to it as I can't cancel it out! We removed our son to a darkened room etc the first time around but baby no.2 always has to get used to noise surely? There is no quiet spot in the house with ds2 around! His voice carries!

Invest in a sling! Works wonders! Get a stretchy Kari Me they are brilliant.

I use white noise in dd2 room to drown out the sound of dd1 skreaking, playing, stomping etc.

I wish she would settle in a sling but she screams blue murder! I have the kari me from ds1 who also hated it! I'm trying the removal to a quiet room etc but she still seems unsettled. Could it just be her age 4 weeks and just a growth spurt?

I'm in the same situ here and it is soo frustrating. I'm actually convinced my eldest is doing it deliberately!
7 week old is a tortured sleepless soul during the day when the 3 year old is about. This week seems not so bad though. Wen I get him over tto sleep in my arms, I pop him in his pram in the hallway away from stompy feet and flying cars!
