Sleep

At my wits end - 6mo won't nap or go to bed at night.

My LO is just a few days off 6 months and I'm in total despair over her sleep problems.

I've read all the books and tried a lot of solutions but nothing really seems to work.

She has reflux which I know doesn't help. For a while the baby whisperer technique worked for naps but now not working anymore. Every nap time is a horrid battle and she seldom sleeps longer that 30-45 minutes.

Bedtime is almost worse. It is usually a two hour plus battle of feeding, baby whispering nap techniques then Putting her down asleep only for her to wake up 10 minutes later.

It is making me so depressed. Things have improved since the early weeks where bedtime took 4-5 hours to implement and she would only sleep 10 mins at a time but I just struggle so much esp when all my friends have babies that they just put in bed and they sleep.

The only saving grace is that once the bedtime battle is over she will often sleep through with a dream feed about 60-70% of the time.

Is it worth trying to get some sort of professional help? Is there any out there? Something has to change as I'm just such a shadow of my former self and nobody except DH to an extent seems to understand what sheer soul destroying torture I live through each day and I often feel like I'm making some big song and dance over nothing but this is literally destroying me.

Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only thing I haven't dine yet is leave her to scream. I will leave her for a good 15 mins if she's just fussing but I'm reticent to do CIO etc.

Hi there, I know this thread is a few weeks old now but I was just wondering how you are getting on? I started a very similar thread a couple of days ago that you may find useful:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/parenting/1752647-Not-getting-any-easier-high-needs-6-month-old-baby-at-my-wits-end

I'm sure, like me, you've tried all or most of the suggestions on there but the fact there are other people who understand what you're going through can be reassuring.

Or maybe by now you've discovered some miracle that works and you could share it with me (wishes!)

Look forward to hearing from you.

Bumping as ive got a six month old who won't go to bed without a long drawn out process. Same for most naps. It's dreadful now.

Would love to chat about it
