He has got worse! He was never great, but usually managed 3 hours, a couple of 4 hours and 1 or 2 5-ers, but in the daytime.

He is doing well (I think!) developmentally, so just wondering if this is similar to the dreaded 4 month sleep regression, where he's processing everything? (Can't wait for the 4 month- how will I tell the difference?!!)

Just wondered if I can do anything to get him to go onger, or is it a ride it ot time?

Thakyo.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

Really sorry to report that my 11 month old still feeds every two hours overnight. I was like you for months, begging it to end, but now I'm just resigned to it. I figure he won't be like this forever, and in the meantime I've just adjusted to having very little sleep.

Oh man, I could have written this thread! 11 weeks old today and 2 hours would actually be a treat tonight. He manages abut 3 1/2 hours when he first goes down and then its pretty much hourly until about 4 - at which point I make DH take him away and try and settle him before I lose my mind (DH also losing mind as the little monkey will only settle if he is standing up!)

Kind of good its normal, but have also been looking unsuccessfully for some problem that there might be a solution to!! Bloody hell, is this it for the foreseeable then??

Yeah, same, been looking for what I'm doing/not doing! Been trying to 'tank up' but if he won't take, he won't take! Witholding naps is impossiblle and cruel as he gets so worked up! Have expressed some bottles so I know he's getting a lot, but he's not keen then my milk goes down the drain, sob!

Ah well! Plough on!!

Dd is now 14 months. She woke and fed every 2 hours like clockwork for 189 nights in a row (i counted them!) then, on the 190th night she randomly slept for 8 full hours and I lay wide awake worrying.

She then slept pretty well ever since, but those first 6 months were utter utter hell!

DS2 is 8.5 WO and feeds every 2 hours too. I'm walking round on autopilot at the mo and finding myself putting socks in the toilet instead of the linen basket and all sorts.

DD was the same. If it wasn't teething, it was a growth spurt or a sleep regression...call it what you liked, basically she's a bad sleeper. Things got a little bit better at around 11-12 months when she started making afforts to walk (perhaps expending more energy?) and she would manage some 5 hours stretches of sleep (by no means regular though, she would often revert to eating every 2 hours or even more frequently). Now at 16 months she has finally managed 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep, although so far this was a one off.

I am seriously sleep deprived and the only reason I can cope as much as I am coping is that I co-sleep and bf.

So I don't suppose a bottle of formula is the magic cure then?!

Ds is 6 weeks and doing 1 4-hr stretch then up every 1.5-2hrs until morning. Sad face!!

I would co-sleep but he gets so windy there would be no point as I'd have to get up after every feed. Double sad face. He is gorgeous though, like a little milky piglet.

As far as I know whether you bottle or breast feed makes no difference to their sleeping habits. Some babies sleep well, others wake up loads. If you give a bottle though you could get your DP to help, but it may affect your milk supply if you are breastfeeding.

I also had to get up to wind DD when she was little but at least I dozed/rested while she bfed. Just do what helps you cope and...it does get better, eventually, but it does get better.
