Big boy's cot

Hello, I moved my 9 week old DS in to his big cot last night. About two weeks ago we managed to establish his bedtime routine - bath, boob, bed. He goes down between 7-8, dream feed at about 11 (introduced a week ago) and goes until about 4:30am, then about 7:30am. He went through from 11-7 on Sat night, but I think it was a one off as he woke at 4:30am this morning.

My question is about how to settle the LO in to the cot? Last night was a bit of a battle and when he woke up at 4:30am he REALLY struggled to get back to sleep on his own, which isn't usually a problem.

It seems that the extra space gives him more room to wiggle around and look at more stuff. Will this pass quickly? I have just put him down for morning nap and he has now nodded off - but I'm expecting him to be sideways in the cot when I go up in a sec!

I am also a bit confused about where to put him. I got a sleeping bag whcih he went in last night. But do I still need to put him feet to feet? He sleeps on his tummy, so I'd like to keep his head on the holey bit of the matress, which is at the top.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You don't need to do feet to foot with sleeping bags, but he should really be sleeping on his back - much safer.

We had a one sided cot that went directly next to the bed - so much easier for dream feeds, resettling etc as I could just reach across and didn't need to get up. You could also try one of those musical mobile thingys. If you put it on every time he goes in his cot he'll start to associate the music with going to sleep.
