ok to go from bed at home to travel cot elsewhere?

DD (23 months) will go to stay with my parents when I go into labour with dc2. We moved her into a bed a couple of months ago but will probably have to put her into the travel cot when she stays with mum and dad. She's stayed with them in the travel cot before, but not since she moved to the bed, and I'm not sure she'll take to going back into a cot.

Anyone else been in this situation? What did you do/how did it go?

could you use one of those ready bed type things that you inflate when required? There is a selection in Argos

I haven't, but if it's a problem could they just put the mattress on the floor? (ps good luck with dc2!)

We do have one of those, but it's more a safety issue. Not sure we'll be able to make the room/stairs secure and I think my mum would be happier if she was more 'contained' in the cot rather than free to roam around.

I think you'll just have to explain to her that at Granny's house she has to sleep in the travel cot, just like she did last time. Make something up about the bed being broken, or something!!

I think we had the same situation on a couple of occasions - the news wasn't particularly well received, but we were very firm and explained that that was how it was going to be.
