Kids' ski clothes - where from?

We're going ski-ing in February with our 3 DCs - age 6, 4 and 1. We're going to need ski clothes for all of them and I'm wondering about getting it soon so that there's no danger of stuff being sold out.
Any recommendations on where's the best place to buy from?

I have not skied for years but know that as far as the kids are concerned the most important thing is that they mustn't get cold.
I don't mind paying a bit more for good quality stuff, but don't want to pay for stuff thats no good. Have just got the mini boden catalogue and they have ski stuff but not sure if its any good or not.

And do you think that the 6 & 4 yr olds will need 2 sets of all outer stuff? 6 yo is doing ski school, 4 yr old doing snow club. (1yr old will be in child care so thought I'd get her 1 snow suit only)

And will we need snow boots for them?

Any advice gratefully received.

Isn't Lidl doing a load right now? quality of their sports gear usually decent ime.

Hi, I buy from decathlon it is extremely good quality for the price, I live in a country where it snows a lot in winter. I had that for DD2 last year when she was one and it was great. IME no need for 2 as the suits are completely snow proof.
Also I wouldn't go into boden or others clothes retailers but buy from a sport shop.

I would also try secondhand as they won't need it for long and outgrow the clothes quickly.

Muddy Puddles has a range of reasonably priced skiwear. You could get away with one jacket but would definitely have 2 sets of salopettes, gloves and scarves/snoods and hats. Yes also to snow boots.

forget boden for ski wear, it is made for fashion, not actual warmth.

I recommend you check out Snow & Rock. And Ellis Brigham.

You need a merino base layer, midlayer, and snowsuits for all. Proper winter boots and hats and gloves.

I second Lidl ski wear (but there were no trousers in my 5 yr olds size on tuesday - they were only released on wednesday!)
They do good base layers, gloves etc - check out your nearest branch, because althought they are cheap (£25 for jacket and trousers)they are very good quality and attractive colours too. i buy 2 pairs of trousers in case of accidents, and also 2 pairs of ski gloves so they can dry properly (or swop over after lunch, where we go the appartments are very close to ski slopes).

Aldi ski kit comes out in january - at our local aldi there is a queue on that sunday, filled with keen parents. I should point out most buy it for UK snowy weather, we are not that middle-class an area. we have used that stuff for 2-3 years now and it is great quality (a pass pocket at the wrist, so a small child can wave it in front of the lift access. how brilliant is that?)

Boden always seems expensive to me, unless you will sell it on after.

Second Quints recommendation for merino base layers (that's the second thread today I've seen you mentioning merino, think you are as obsessed as I am! ) - I buy the Icebreaker ones for me and DS's, although they are a bit pricier.

Then they have a fleece on top, with one set of jacket and trousers. Good quality hats, gloves and socks a must, nothing more miserable than cold hands and feet!

We got the DS's stuff from Snow and Rock this year, they have a pretty wide range. If you're anywhere near Earls Court, they have the Ski Snow on this weekend with loads of exhibitors - am sending DH with a list!

Go to an outlet place like McArthur Glen which have a few outdoor kit shops because who cares if it's this years pattern?

Also TKMaxx - got a really good quality outfit for DS age6 last year.

Snow boots for warmth yes. Think sledging & using feet as brakes!

H and M and Trespass outlets are good value, also try the Snow and Rock outlet website, have odd sizes of last season's kit left . Ebay good for posher brands at bargain prices, often not used for more than a week or two.
