to do an active conversations option without buying/selling and member profiles?

I really dont want to offend anyone so please dont slate me.

Yes, I am a coward for not using my normal name, I just dont want anyone to take it personally iykwim.

But then you have to put it on all the different options - some people do want to see member profiles, but don't want to see buying and selling, some people want to see member profiles but not chat or buying and selling, etc, etc.

Yes, but I asked first

actually, i agree.

How bizarre - I was going to post a similar thread just before to ask if we could have the facility to omit whichever topics we want. Member profiles and breast and bottle are doing my noggin in!

I couldn't care less what people think of me for asking

hunkermunker Sat 18-Jun-05 16:21:42

It was asked a while ago when lots of people - me included - were posting member profile pics.

There's an option to use find new messages or something with the categories you don't want discarded - you can save your favourites list, then you can go and be miserable and not chat about how lovely other people's children are

Have a good mind to post lots of member profile threads with pictures of my kitchen, my big toe and my favourite drink on them

And DS breastfeeding, just for GDG

Gobbledigook Sat 18-Jun-05 16:24:59

I've nothing against it Hunker (seen my share of it recently as good friend has new baby and have been meeting up a lot), just the endless repetitive threads - it's so boring. I know I can just not click on it but even the titles wind me up!!! I know, it doesn't take much!

hunkermunker Sat 18-Jun-05 16:26:31

I know you don't GDG - was just teasing

I don't reply to those as much as I did - there are only so many times you can write the same information God, I sound like Cod and her search the archives mantra

Gobbledigook Sat 18-Jun-05 16:27:55

Well that's it Hunker - it's the same old things over and over again and the same people too - don't they have anything else to talk about?! Not referring to you of course as you are about on other threads!

hunkermunker Sat 18-Jun-05 16:32:25

I do think that some of it is interesting - see Mears' post on the subject - and of course if somebody is in great distress and can't get their baby to feed, I'll do my best to suggest things as I know how hard it is in the early days.

But it can get repetitive.

And now we're hijacking this thread - smacked hands for us!

Gobbledigook Sat 18-Jun-05 16:43:15

Oh, I agree Hunker - for people that have problems or want advice but the endless 'debate' always turns that way whether it's the intention or not! I find it exhausting to see it coming round again and again (though I know Moondog LOVES it ).

I know, very norty!

mears Sat 18-Jun-05 16:48:19

Childbirth and breastfeeding - that's all I'M qualified to talk about

No life other than that!

hunkermunker Sat 18-Jun-05 17:04:27

GDG, I do like a good tit/teat debate - I like exploding myths And MD LOVES them

You can only have active convos without chat or without chat or buying/selling at the moment.

Have a look at the top of the page underneath the logo and buttons, theres a row of links next to 'Active conversations' which will give you your options there

Mail tech if you have any probs

I asked this about the depressives ages ago. The answer was no then.

I do love the without buying/selling though
