Please can the thread I hide not be highlighted to me in big red letters?

When I click "hide", the page then refreshes with a big red announcement at the top, saying "We have hidden the following thread", then giving the title. But the thing is, I don't want to see the title, which is why I hid the thread.

So, instead of having it nested in among 99 other threads and having to overlook it, I have it blaring out in big red letters.

Is there any way to hide it without having you telling me that you are hiding it? Please

I second that request.

If you can stomach going into the thread, long enough to click on the hide option there rather than the one on active convos, then it doesn't get the blaring red message at the top of the active convos page.

Just refresh as soon as you hide. I agree that it's a PITA

It's words on a screen what's to get so upset about?

Personally I find it more irritating than upsetting, but still...

Ahh, thank you SG!

TDWP - I don't get upset, but I don't swear (for example) in RL, and don't particularly want to see a title with loads of expletives in it. I know this is an adult site, and as such people can use whichever words they like, but I prefer to hide threads with a long string of expletives in the title. But, then I find that it is highlighted in red for me, which defeats the purpose of hiding it.

I second the request as well. WHY does it have to blare out in red letters?

I find it annoying too tbh. I just want to click 'hide' and it disappears.

Most certainly we'll look at changing this when or soon after we introduce our next round of improvements.
