Please - hate any sense that your advertisers are exploiting the current situation - so cynical. Very obtrusive too at the top of all posts/boards.

I was just coming on to post about this...

I am on the mobile site via Safari and I use an ad blocker...

Hi OP,

Thanks so much for raising this.
Can anyone grab us a link to the advert?

I’m on the mobile site and that bloody ad lags in loading, so unless you wait for it you find that you click on the last page thread button and instead you get taken off MN to the ad site.

It’s the first time I’ve noticed/followed up an advert on Mumsnet Blush I know it’s not the point but I actually think it’s pretty good value!

Can you please do something about this?!! We’ve just gone into lockdown, and whilst I am excited for all the Disney, I want to click on information, not a lagging ad!!

It is driving me flipping mad! I keep accidentally clicking it as the page loads.

Please get rid of the Disney ad/announcement as you can’t help but inadvertently click on it as the site loads.

Given it’s set up like a site announcement, MNHQ no doubt have had a significant hand in setting it up & I hope Disney have effective ad attribution that filters out the meaningless clicks going on...

It’s slow to load so making my screen jump. At least it’s not multiplying like the william hill ads though

It’s too intrusive, takes up too much space, and is too easy to click by mistake (esp on mobile site)

My DC are too old for Disney stuff so it’s been pretty annoying having something I have no interest in, stuck in such a prominent place for so long

Report
TeddyIsaHe · 24/03/2020 07:35

It’s on every single page, and takes a second longer than the page to load so you end up clicking something else every time!!! PLEASE GET RID it’s driving me crackers

iPhone 8 up to date iOS on safari.

I've clicked on it so many times by accident as it jumps down the page. So irritating.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 24/03/2020 07:39

It's very annoying, the page loads, then the ad appears making the page jump and you end up either clicking on the ad link or a thread you weren't trying to open.

AintNobodyHereButUsKittens · 24/03/2020 07:39

I know it’s not actually opportunistic because they’ve planned this launch date for months, but it is far too easy to click by accident - I’ve clicked it at least three times.

I’m having the same issues with clicking on is accidentally. It’s incredibly annoying.

Me too! I keep clicking on the wrong thing, because the damn ad loads just as I"m about the click, and the pages jumps. So annoying!!

Thanks for the reports which we'll pass on. Flowers

This is driving me mad. Even when it’s not clicking on to Disney, it’s causing the thread list to move so I keel clicking on the wrong threads. Can’t the ad just be taken down while it’s messing up the usability of the site?

Spudlet · 24/03/2020 12:55

Another one bored of accidentally clicking on it because it’s too slow to load. I don’t have £50 to chuck away on TV and I could do without it rubbing in here, as well as on social media every second post 🙄

So many betting apps and that as well being advertised really irresponsible I thought.

Can you just take it down, it's intrusive and affects the loading of our your pages!

Report
Sowerehere · 24/03/2020 17:25

Come on!! It’s seriously annoying STILL. Just trying to post on a thread and I didn’t even click on it and the full colour ad started playing. Can you not get this sorted - I’ve never seen an advert have such prominence in this site. They must be paying you a fortune!

Well I’ve just signed up for Disney plus (what good timing!) and purposefully not used the MN link because it’s so bloody annoying! Exactly what they were hoping for I’m sure Hmm
