Unsolicited email alerts

Morning Mumsnet HQ,

I woke up to a slew of emails alerting me to new posts in a thread I started watching last night. I hadn’t changed the settings (I wouldn’t have known how).

I managed to follow the link to change the talk settings and found that “Notify me when others post on threads I'm watching“ was ticked. What’s gone wrong? I’ve unticked it, but how stable is this? I really don’t want these alerts!

Well, that's very strange indeed. (As well as pretty annoying, sorry).

We haven't had any other reports from people saying they've had a similar issue (yet), but we'll ask our Tech team if there's any reason why your settings may have changed.

Can you let us know which device you're using and which version of the site (desktop/mobile/app)?

And if anyone else has suddenly started getting email notifications, do let us know here.

Hi there, I swap between an iPad and iPhone (occasionally I’m on a PC, but last night was definitely one of my mobile devices), so I think that’s Safari in both cases. Both are up to date operating systems.
