Annoying Ads

There seem to be some ads that moe down the page with you when you scroll. These are really really irritating as when I try to type on the add message box or go back to edit something I need what I’ve typed, I keep triggerng the ad even though it’s not visible on that bit of the screen. I’m using the desktop site on an iPad with safari.

This Ford one is an example - I’ve given up trying to type the reply I wanted to make as I kept clicking on the ad.

The Leaderboard will appear when you scroll, but should not be covering up the text box. We've flagged this with our tech team now. Hopefully this will be sorted ASAP.

We have replicated the issue on an iPad and the fixed banner ad should not prevent you from editing and creating posts. Unfortunately, like some touchscreen devices, there is a risk of accidentally tapping the ad, so fingers crossed this doesn't happen too often.

It did prevent it because every time I tried to click in the message box, I clicked through to the advert page. Even when the advert didn’t seem to be there. It’s not a case of accidentally tapping the advert, it was unavoidable due to poor programming of the advert.

I’ve reinstalled my ad blocker now.

If you don’t want people to use ad blockers, you need to stop the adverts causing problems.
