why do mn hq not even post on a thread when they have had lots of reports?
in the old days you would get a email saying what mn hq thought, now you don't, so how do you even know mn hq have read the report?

There was an executive decision a few months back to not reply and for us to trust and believe that each report is looked at though sometimes time constraints may mean not immediately.

This is the problem. We're not supposed to troll hunt but something you report and report and MN aren't doing anything and you don't know if they're just not looking or if the person has checked out okay (not that that doesn't mean they're a troll).

I reckon if there are loads of reports and no MNHQ action it means the person/thread checks out and they don’t need to do anything. I would guess this happens mostly if it is concerns about a troll rather than the thread descending into a bunfight etc.

I report a lot less now we don't get a reply to the report. What's the point? You don't even know if they have seen it.

You have no idea whether the checking out was done as soon as they got it or 3 days later. Or not at all.

I thought that till a few weeks ago when a poster didn't get banned till she'd scammed quite a few MNetters out of cash despite loads of reports over two days.

I report personal attacks and sexism, racism, etc. They are usually deleted within 10 minutes or so. So they are reading the reports and on some of the ones that I report I can't imagine that a lot of people are also reporting.

Sorry, I meant that to be helpful / reassuring that they are reading reported posts but just may not be responding to some if they don't think the post crossed the line. (I'm not saying that right)

Hi ZackyVengeance,

We do understand that it can be frustrating when you are sending reports and there is no email response. In this case, there were a lot of reports on this thread to work through and it's not always a case of deleting the thread or posts etc...

WE REALLY rely on reports like these because you guys often see/notice things that we miss. We always appreciate it.

It would be quite nice to know what your views are when someone has reported a personal attack by a poster on the person reporting - what decision you came to. Sometimes you do that, sometimes you don't.

By you, I mean MNHQ.
