What is the point of having an AIBU thread if you are going to delete anyone who disagrees?

Wouldn't it just make more sense to close the thread with "This is not a subject for debate", rather than have 10 or 20 "my baby needs to be in her pram" posts made and deleted, and then 950 posts remaining calling them an idiot.

It just seems utterly pointless to have an AIBU thread if the only allowable viewpoint is YANBU.
