Usually in year 12. But you can still go in year 13.

At the end of Y12 many schools/colleges will allow time off (after the AS exams for open days). No harm having a look around universities before then - though as many open days get booked out, it is more reasonable to reserve those for Y12 students.

Hi - my son in year 13 and very undecided about his future.
Wishing we'd done open days and stuff ,last year.
Also his school want
UCAS forms completed by this half term ( tho of course apart from Oxbridge and Art I don't think they have to be in until Xmas ) so that really means they need to have decided where they want to go by now.

So definitely advise some forays now.
As for son think he's going to have to wait another year before applying. So much pressure to apply that think any choice will be random and more a result of pressure.

Usually year 12 and I would definately recommend going to them. We suggest UCAS forms are in just after this half term at our college - especially this year as there are loads more applicants this cycle. Oxbridge go by 15th Oct, and only some Art & Design have the 24th March deadline, most have been brought in line with the usual route of 15th Jan.
