Brentwood School?

Have been doing the rounds for DD2 for Secondary transfer. Looking at both state and independent schools( our older DD is at an independent so thoiught it only fair she has the same choices.)

She really liked the grammars we visited (Chelmsford and Westcliff) and the local high school's not half bad. She's bright and is going to take the 11+ but the grammars are supremely competetive round here and there's so few places for thousands of girls!

We went to Brentwood's open day last weekend and she fell in love with the place.We liked it too- the facilities are great. Her tutor thinks she would have a really good chance of getting in should she not get a place at one of the grammars.

Anyone got a DC there? Know anyone whose DCs go there?

We visited on a day when school was on. It looks great, really great, and I met the head, who seems extremely focused.

The children were polite, helpful and friendly without being drippy. They looked good fun. But there was a seriousness about the school too. I met almost every teacher "in situ" and really liked it a lot.

We didn't go there it but not because we didn't like it.

I have organised for a visit on a normal school day in a few weeks time.

I know a few people who have children there and have heard mostly good things about the school.
