Good luck, I would have been bricking it if I had not just moved jobs, really don't think my old year 11s will have done well at all.

Not bricking it - I expect my DS to do well.

As for my own pupils, so much of their result is decided before the final exam. The exam will only be a small deviation from what we already knew they had achieved.

I do hope ds does well but he aims extremely high in life and will have to do BLOODY well if he is to attain his dream

i already know he has done rubbish in one ( ITC) as the coursework was sent back for a re mark as it was so poorly graded and came back LOWER!!

I am dreading the gloaty friends ringing round....

my very low ability english group will be getting their results. They hadn't even been entered for GCSE when I started teaching them last Sept as their previous teacher thought they were beyond saving. So I got all dead poets society and decided to put them in for it and we did the whole course in 8 months ... seemed a good idea at the time

we'll see tomorrow!....

NotAnOtter ds will have a dire grade for ICT. and as for humanities.........

Moomin · 20/08/2008 22:06

Well, I just hope they come away with something, and they're not too disappointed that they'll just scrape passes, seeing as they wouldn't have had anything at all if they'd have been left to it. They were all entered for a basic literacy qualification so we did this as well, but I really hope they all get a GCSE pass as well. It will be a great achievement for them if they do, as they all have loads of learning and behaviour issues. Typical though, my best hope of a D grade forgot to come to the second part of the exam, so the best she can hope for now is a very basic pass like the rest of them... oh well!

best of luck to everyone else with dcs and pupils

Aww Moomin, you sound like a lovely teacher!!I hope when dd gets to secondary school (She has special needs and is quite developmentally delayed) she will have a fab teacher like you who doesn't give up on the "lower" achievers.Hope your group does well and everyones dcs get the results they hoped for.

Well, out of my group of 10,
One girl went back to Portugal in March and so was entered but didn't take the exams, so she got a U

BUT..... all the others passed!!!!!!!!
2 got G grades (one of which is going to a special needs college as he can't cope at a mainstream 6th form, so I'm dead proud of him especially)
6 got F grades
and 1 got an E!!!

Chuffed to bits for them. I saw one of them getting his results - you'd cross the road to avoid him if you saw him in RL - shaved head, fist full of bling rings, baseball cap, etc. He was in tears as he read his results - he'd only been entered for 2 GCSEs and he got G for Maths and F for English and he saw saying 'my old man'll be so pleased'. Awwwwww!

Well done Moomin's class!

My lovely, second to bottom set did themselves proud too - all of them passed, 2 with Gs, loads with Es and Ds and two of them got Cs. The boy who got C cried and gave me the hugest hug imaginable - bless him!

And the boy who was entered for nothing else except English got an E!

It still makes me so cross though that all of these amazing pupils (most of my Es didn't speak English a couple of years ago) are classed as "failures" by the system.

Janeite and Moomin - you are making me cry too.

My cousin achieved 7 As (eeeeeek), 2 Bs and 2 Cs - am so proud that wanted to tell someone!
