Hi
Any current schs parents on here? Dd has an offer which we are really pleased about, but I would be interested to hear views, both good and bad, from those in the know. Particularly interested to find out more in relation to sports and co-curricular activities as apart from the Wednesday afternoon Kinza there didn't seem to be much information about it on their website. Are there many clubs that go on after school?

Dd has offers from Sutton woldingham and Emanuel. Dd leaning towards girls only though so that rules out Emanuel, and I wasn't bowled over by it so am happy to be guided by her on this one.
I really liked woldingham but the distance concerns me, and I dread to think of having to drive her if southern trains are playing up as they like to do on a regular basis!
Thank you.

I think we are about to accept a place at Woldingham, the distance is my main concern but DD is dead set on it. In our eyes its worth the journey!

Hedwig - what do you think about Sutton and would you say it’s similar to Streatham? Looking for dD next year and Sutton is on our list. Hadn’t thought of Streatham.

@corblimbea really liked Sutton too, I liked the interaction between the staff and pupils that I saw. A very friendly school. Schs for us over Sutton due to location (and a bit more space though still an urban feel to it).

Sorry to say I can't recommend SCHS other than for a tough cookie. 9 pupils along with my daughter left after just 2 years, not a great sign. It's chaotically run and known amongst parents as 'Sloppy Streatham'. They talk the talk on pastoral care but don't walk the walk and there is no attention to detail, nor interest in nipping things in the bud. Huge problems with girls not eating lunch there too. Some girls love it so I'm sure you'll hear different opinions.

I'd be worried about how it will be impacted financially as I imagine it will lose a lot of its Chinese pupils.

Interesting. You would think the GDST head office would stamp down quickly, especially if they are losing pupils.
We are looking at it for a potential Sixth Form move.

Hi ladies. I'm watching this thread with interest as my DD is in year 5, we are in the process of swotting up on admissions policies for SW schools and we visited (and liked) SCHS last year. I found the environment to be relaxed and from what the girls who took us round said, not too pressured. That said, my sister's friend some moons ago left SCHS for a state school due to their lack of support over bullying.

Totally appreciate every experience will be different but always good to hear views.

@Notmynom would you mind dropping me a PM if you have experience of / views on SCHS please? Many thanks

@softmum please can you give us an idea of when your daughter left ? I’d like to know if it may have changed since. Thanks

I know this thread is a bit old now but @softmum and @Notmynom would you be happy to DM me about your experience of SCHS? We've only been able to see it virtually and would really appreciate more insight into the school. Thank you.
